Sun Belle got strawberries!
Veteran strawberry growers in Zamora, Mexico brought their cultivated fields and state of the art facilities to Sun Belle. These Sun Belle strawberries will be in the market this fall, winter and spring, followed by summer strawberries from the United States. Sun Belle will be featuring mostly festival and albion varieties. These two varieties are both noted for their large conical shape, deep color throughout the fruit, and excellent sweet but slightly tangy flavor.

The modern strawberry is a cross of two North American strawberry varieties that traveled to Europe following the "discovery" of America. Strawberries join the list of those important fruit and vegetable staples, like tomatoes, corn, beans and peppers, that were "discovered" by the world after 1492!

Like all of Sun Belle's berries, strawberries are both delicious and very healthy foods. They are loaded with antioxidants, contain more vitamin C per serving than an orange, are an excellent source of folates, potassium and dietary fiber.

Whole strawberries dipped in chocolate are everywhere! Cut, strawberries are a regal dessert, alone or mixed with other fruit, dusted with powdered sugar or doused with whipped cream. For breakfast strawberries can top any cereal or be tossed in the blender with bananas to make an invigorating smoothie.
